Ogla Cares Foundation partnered with Achimota Golf Hills Lions Club and other Lions Clubs in Ghana on 30th August 2025 to visit inmates at the Senior Correctional Facility (Bostal Home) where there are over 200 inmates below the age of 21 years. We took the opportunity to engage with Prison Officers and inmates encouraging the boys to look beyond the mistakes that brought them to the Correctional Centre or the time spent incarcerated. We encouraged them to view the experience as an opportunity to transform their lives and build valuable life changing skills since there were various skill training activities at the the facility like shoe-making, auto mechanic etc. The Prison Officers and inmates were encouraged and thankful for the life experiences and advise shared. As the slogan of the facility indicates, "Our boys will surely rise again"

Ogla Cares Foundation in collaboration with the Achimota Golf Hill Lions Club embarked on a compassionate outreach initiative aimed at supporting the Motherly Love Foundation Orphanage Home in Ghana. This donation exercise reflects Ogla Cares Foundation’s unwavering commitment to promoting health, dignity, and holistic well-being among underserved communities, especially children. Partnering with the Achimota Golf Hill Lions Club, a well-established service organization renowned for its humanitarian missions, this initiative brought together two forces united by a shared passion for giving back and making a sustainable impact. The outreach featured the donation of essential supplies including food items, toiletries, educational materials, clothing, and medical essentials. Volunteers from both organizations also engaged in meaningful interaction with the children, creating moments of joy, storytelling, and mentorship.

Educational Session: A comprehensive talk was delivered on menstrual health by Dr. Eshun, Marilyn and Nurse Millicent of New Crystal Hospital focusing on the biology of menstruation, the importance of hygiene, and how to manage periods safely and with dignity. The session also addressed common myths and misconceptions.Interactive Discussions: Students, especially boys, were encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts, creating a safe space for open conversation. This helped foster empathy and promote a culture of respect and support. Demos: There were demonstrations on the proper use of sanitary towels by the students; both boys and girls assisted by the facilitators on site.Sanitary Towel Distribution:As a key part of the event, all participating girls were provided with sanitary towels, courtesy of the Ogla Cares Foundation. This gesture not only supported their immediate needs but also served as a practical example of menstrual equity.

The North Tongu District faces persistent poverty challenges, especially in communities like Botikop3. Father Ebenezer Hanson formerly of Raphael Catholic Church, Lashibi has since the year 2022 devoted his life to the community forsaking the comforts of the city and family and friends to provide food, clothing, access to school and water amongst others for the impoverished community. Before he located the community which is deep in the forest, most of the children had no idea how to read and write. He painfully recounted to the founder of Ogla Foundation on her philanthropic visit how he wrote the letters of the English Alphabet onboards for children to read and they had no idea what the symbols were. Further, there was no light and water for the indigene and food was a challenge since the people were either Fulani herdsmen with their families of Ewes from BotikoP3.
